Carrie Coppini | Executive Director & MA APCC
Carrie Coppini is the founder and Board President of the Free to Fly Foundation Single Mom’s Fund. Carrie is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. Since 2009 Carrie has been fighting to bring better resources and hope to the struggling single mother families in our community. Her goal is to build an organization that provides survival, practical and spiritual support to single moms in Humboldt County.
Cheryl Turner | Treasurer
Cheryl graduated with an accounting degree from Cal State Fullerton and over twenty-five years of experience. Cheryl has served as treasurer for multiple non-profits and joined the Board of Directors in 2020. Cheryl is devoted to Jesus and was a single mom to her children after her husband passed away in 2008. The combination of her skills, life experience and love for serving people have prepared her for her role at the Free to Fly Foundation.
Lisa Leon | Administrative Assistant | Board Secretary| Community Resource Specialist
Lisa has over seven years of combined secretarial and community resource experience. Lisa currently works for TCIL. Her title is ADRC Manager and has acquired extensive knowledge of the resources available in our county. Lisa helps our single moms connect to essential services and resources both within our organization and those provided by governmental agencies. Lisa also joined on the Housing Authority of the county of Humboldt Board of Commissioners in October of 2022. Lisa joined the Free To Fly Foundation Single Mom Fund Board of Directors as the Secretary in 2020.

Erin McCann | Community & church liason
Erin has lived in Humboldt her entire life and has a heart to serve. Growing up she attended Arcata First Baptist Church and currently serves on the leadership team at Branches Humboldt faith community in Arcata. She has worked as a social worker in the community for 10 years and enjoys coaching her kids' youth sports teams. Experiencing the challenges of single mom life firsthand, she hopes to continue creating community partnerships and offer an even more robust sisterhood of support for single moms in Humboldt.
Cassie brilbeck | Fundraising, grants, clothing closet facilitator
Cassie served as board chair then treasurer at the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist fellowship. Cassie enjoys volunteering especially for the local celebrate recovery groups. Cassie is passionate about supporting single parents in any capacity. Cassie is excited to be part of this amazing program.
